One of the most powerful aspects of AnywhereMap systems is that they are updateable through time. This means that not only can the data be updated, but the software application can be too which results in new features and functions being available for your use. It's like getting a new GPS!
There are two types of updates: database and software.
Database Updates:
These should be done every 28 days concurrent with the FAA™s release of updated data. Generally our databases are available for update a couple days before they expire. To find out when you currently installed database will expire, simply run the AnywhereMap or Wx program and then tap File > About. Note the database expiration date.
Software Updates:
Software updates are made available periodically. Some are smaller 'maintenance releases' and others are major updates full of new features and functions.
For detailed software and database update instructions, please open and print this document. Keep it handy for future updates!
Pocket Plates:
Pocket Plates is not any different from the other applications. It has plates updated every 28 days and also, from time to time, software updates. Pocket Plates is different from AnywhereMap/Wx however in that the plate updates are managed from the Pocket Plates Manager application that you install on your home or office PC. You do not download them from the Download Center on the website as you do the others. Refer to the Pocket Plates Installation Manual for specific information on updating the plates.
