The Dell Axim has slightly different setup procedures than the HP iPAQs. The following document will walk you through setting up a Bluetooth device.
On your Dell:
1) Ensure the Anywhere Map™ program is not running (Shutdown-Concern)
2) Tap the Bluetooth icon in the lower right-hand corner of the screen
3) Ensure the “Turn on Bluetooth” check box is selected
4) Now touch the “Devices” tab at the bottom of the screen
5) Tap the “New Partnership” button
(the program will then pause for a moment as it scans for nearby Bluetooth devices)
6) Now select Bluetooth GPS or Weather Box you want to use
7) Press the “Next” button at the bottom of the screen
8) Enter the Pin code for your device
Sentinel Blue GPS is generally “0000” (fours zeros, not the letter O)
Garmin10 GPS is generally “1234”
Anywhere Tracker GPS is generally “0” or “default” or “0000” (all zeros are zeros and not the letter O)
WX – XM Weather Box is generally “0” (a single zero) or “9679”
9) Ensure the “Serial Port” checkbox is selected
10) Tap the “Finish” button at the bottom of the screen
11) Now press the “COM Ports” tab at the bottom of the screen
12) Select the “New Outgoing Port” button
13) Tap the GPS or Weather Box ID
14) Select the desired COM port
GPS is generally the COM8 port
Weather Box is generally the COM7 port
15) Ensure the “Secure Communications” checkbox is unselected
16) Tap the “Finish” button at the bottom of the screen
17) Click on the “OK” button in the top right-hand corner of the screen
Now you can enter AnywhereMap and change the settings to match the new COM ports.
