Anywhere Map Support .: Anywhere Travel Companion (ATC) .: Connecting the ATC to a PC for updates.

Connecting the ATC to a PC for updates.

The Anywhere Travel Companion (ATC) is designed to connect to a host PC running Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7 via the included USB to Mini-USB cable.

Mac OS is not supported.

Before connecting the ATC to the PC, make sure to exit the Anywhere Map or HP Street Navigation applications properly so that the 3 icon "Title Screen" is displayed.

Connect the USB cable to a USB port on the back of your PC, & connect the miniUSB end of the cable to the ATC unit. Within a few seconds (Upto 1 minute or longer if using Windows Vista on the host PC), the blue sync screen will appear on the ATC display, and the 'AutoPlay' windows will open on the PC.

Windows Vista enabled PCs may prompt the user to "Scan and Fix the files on TFAT".  Simply click the "Continue Without Scanning" button and the contents of the ATC memory and datacard will appear in the AutoPlay window.  These windows may be titled "TFAT", "Removable Disk", or "ATCSD".

Once the AutoPlay windows have opened, the ATC is ready to have Anywhere Map updates installed.

You may close the AutoPlay windows and open the Anywhere Update Center to proceed with the updating process.
