Updating the ATC for the first time. What do I do first and what should I expect?

Go to www.anywheremap.com/atc This is the Home Page dedicated solely to the ATC. Here you will find all the Information, News, Videos & Applications available for the ATC. It’s a good idea to check back here often for the latest on ATC related developments.
Find the icon labeled Anywhere Update Center
-Run and Install the application
-You will need to restart your PC when app is finished installing
-Once rebooted, you should notice the Anywhere Update Center (AUC) icon in the system taskbar. If it does not auto load you can open it by going to Start>All Programs>Anywhere Map>Anywhere Update Center. Alternately if it does auto start and you do not want it to, go to Start>All Programs>Startup> Right click on AUC>delete from list.
-Other resources you may need:
- 1) BITS-
Start>Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services
In the Services applet, look for Background Intelligent Transfer Service, the Status should be Started and the Startup Type should be Automatic. Once it shows "Started" in the list, go back to AUC and try entering the username and password again.

Below are two links to Microsoft's website with the downloads you may need for Anywhere Update Center. Follow the instructions for the first download then follow the instructions for the second links download, then restart your PC.

2) Visual Studio-

Microsoft Core XML Services (MSXML) 6.0- (out of the 4-you only need the first one-1.5 MB)

The first time you open AUC, go to File>User Settings>Enter your Username and Password>Tap Ok.
Possible Error messages:
-Registration: Ensure you have registered your ATC and are using the correct user name and
password.
-Can not contact server: Double check your internet connection, firewall may need to be temp.
disabled, and/or you may need to disconnect form Network Drives.
-Unexpected Error: You need to install the files above (Visual Studio and XML)
Check for Updates- Please wait (black/white circle spins while checking for updates)
-First time will take several minutes (up to 10). Once downloaded the updates are ready to be installed.
-Possible Error messages:
-ATC does not appear to be plugged in.
-Open “My Computer”- Do you see 2 additional drives? (TFat, Removable Disk, ATCMAP or ATCSD) One should include a Control Vision folder and another should include a DAT folder.
Yes-Contact Technical Support for further troubleshooting
No-Unplug the ATC, Reset unit, Wait for 3 icon screen, Plug ATC directly into PC, try using a different USB port, try disconnecting from Network drives.

-Not registered. If you have already registered your ATC, say No to the message.
Power on ATC, ensure it is loaded to the three icons page (PP,AWM,NAV), Connect to the PC. The screen of the ATC will have a monitor with two arrows and a keyboard displayed (Referred to as the Sync screen). There is no animation on this screen and this is all you should see on the ATC while connected to the PC.
Install Updates- Please wait (black/white circle spins while installing)         
-ATC does not appear to be plugged in may appear, Double check in My Computer directory for
the ATCMAP and TFAT drives (these are the SD card and internal memory drives of the ATC)
-Notification that installation is not quite finished- Unplug and wait 2 minutes.
-That is a message from a previous version of AUC. Please go to www.anywheremap.com/atc and install the latest AUC application.
When finished, tap OK on desktop PC, then unplug the ATC and wait for the “sync” screen to return to the three icons page (this may take a couple minutes)
-Error: The sync screen never goes away (longer than 10 minutes unplugged from PC)
-Tap the reset button or call Technical Support
