Each PDA uses a back light to help make the screen easier to view. The backlight runs in two different modes, AC and Battery. When a handheld is switched from AC to battery operation, the brightness of the unit will generally decrease to help conserve battery life. To change or adjust this setting, please complete the following steps:
1) Click the Start | Settings

2) Tap the “System” tab at the bottom of the screen

3) Next, click on the Backlight icon

4) Click on the Brightness tab at the bottom of the screen

The “Brightness” section controls the actual light level of the screen while in both AC and Battery modes. If you would like your PDA to keep the same brightness level regardless its power state, adjust both levers to the same vertical level. This will keep your handheld from switching the backlight between bright and less bright, while moving between power modes.

Please note that some PDAs may have an “Automatic” checkbox at the bottom of the brightness screen. If your PDA has an automatic checkbox, please ensure this option is unchecked.
