ATC stuck on "HP Invent" screen >3 minutes

Press the 'Reset' button in lower right corner of the device with the stylus; the ATC's screen will go black momentarily, then return to the "HP Invent" screen.  Wait approximately 15 seconds, then connect the ATC to a rear USB port on your computer.  The ATC's screen should change to display the 'Sync' screen; a picture of a computer screen with 2 rotating arrows & a keyboard, indicating that the ATC is connected.  Once you see this picture on the ATC, set it aside.

If you see a message appear on your desktop screen stating "USB Device not recognized", disconnect the ATC, reset it again & wait a little bit longer before connecting the device to your computer.

On your desktop computer, you will generally see two Windows "Autoplay" dialog boxes appear asking whether you'd like to "Open folder to view files", "Play Music", "View Pictures", etc. - Simply cancel these (we only look for them to verify that both of the ATC's drives are being 'seen' by the desktop computer).

Next, download & run this file: http://anywheremap.com/support/atc/atc_fix.exe. You will need to call or Live Chat with Technical Support for the "Support Response Code".  Enter the 5-character-long (case sensitive) 'response code' given to you by support, then press the "OK" button.

If the OK button does not become active after entering the 'support response code', verify the following:

  1. Make sure that you entered the 'response code' correctly; it is case-sensitive & should be 5 characters long;  4 lower-case letters, followed by a single capital letter. Re-enter the code if necessary.  Be aware that if you close the program & re-run it, the "Support Code" will change, & we will have to generate a new "Support Response Code".
  2. Both of the ATC's drives are being 'seen'; open the "My Computer" browser window & verify that the "TFAT" drive is listed (containing a "Control Vision" & "IPAQ" folders), as well as the SD memory card which will typically be labeled "ATCMAP", "ATCSD", or just "Removable Disk" & will contain a "DAT" folder.  If you do not see both of these drives, disconnect the ATC & restart this process from the beginning; try a different USB port if necessary.

When prompted, unplug ATC and Reset unit by pressing the reset button on lower right corner. Wait up to 2 minutes for the 3 icons page to appear.

If the ATC still does not reach the main '3-button screen' showing Pocket Plates, Anywhere Map & Navigation buttons, contact the support team for individual assistance.
