Active Sync
Active Sync is software for your Desktop or Laptop PC, which synchronizes data with your PDA. Anywhere Map, Anywhere WX, Pocket Plates, and Download Manager all use the Active Sync component to communicate, install, and update the PDA device.

Cradle
The cradle is the docking device connected to your Desktop or Laptop PC that you rest your PDA in when not in use. It usually charges and synchronizes your PDA with your Desktop or Laptop Computer. A serial or USB cable can act the same way as a cradle and charge/synchronize your PDA to your desktop pc as well, and both should be considered the same when connected to your Desktop PC.

Download Manager
Download Manager is a required piece of software for installing Anywhere Map, Anywhere WX, and Pocket Plates. You can find Download Manager in the subscribers download section at http://www.anywheremap.com/downloads. Download Manager is responsible for extracting files onto your PDA from any installation programs.

Shutdown-Concern
On your PDA, the “X” in the upper right-hand corner of the Anywhere Map™ program only minimizes or switches Anywhere Map™ into the background. (Yes Anywhere Map™ is still running on the PDA, when you tap the “X”) In order to actually exit Anywhere Map™, use the File | Exit option and answer “Yes” to the prompt.
